THE JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

The Parish Council co-ordinated a day of events for the holiday June 3rd, 2002.  In addition, Mary Bourne, Parish Councillor and artist, has designed a unique Jubilee Medal.

The Hertford Heath Jubilee Medal

The Royal Mint prepared a special Hertford Heath Jubilee Medal of nickel-brass alloy, 38.61 mm weighing 28.28 grammes.  On one side is the Queen and on the reverse a village motif as shown below.  The medal comes in a small red presentation case.

There are a very limited number of medals left at a cost of £2.50 each.  Please contact the Clerk on 01992 581994 if you would like one.

Celebrations on the day - 3 June 2002

IN THE MORNING

Soccer on the Playing Field

This went very well - 22 teams and each participant received a medal unique to the occasion

IN THE AFTERNOON

The Village Picnic on the Village Green

Lots of people, lots of picnics.  Our violinist did a great job, even though the Goat's disco decided to compete!

IN THE EVENING

A Bonfire and Fireworks on the Village Green

Our now traditional Bob Akers' bonfire was as good as ever and burnt well into the night and the fireworks were spectacular.

Great stuff.
