BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS ON THE VILLAGE GREEN

SATURDAY 5TH NOVEMBER 2005

Many congratulations must go to Richard Jacobs and his great crew of helpers who staged a magnificent bonfire and brilliant firework display on 5th November and which was enjoyed by so many.

Many thanks to to all the sponsors and to those who donated to the “firework fuse fund”.   

The pupils at the JMI produced a wonderful array of posters and guys for the event.  The prize winning posters were (I am afraid the picures do not do justice to the originals):

The bonfire was built in the afternoon:

Guys had been made by each class in the school, as well as by individuals:

The bonfire was lit at 6:30pm.  It caught quickly.  All the guys were put onto it and burned in the traditional fashion:

There then followed a magnificent firework display:
