On a blustery but dry 4th July, District Councillor William Ashley opened the new Wildlife Meadow by cutting three tapes around the site.  Many villagers then enjoyed a picnic on the meadow.  

 

 

 

Honoured guests included the Mayor of Hertford, Peter Ruffles, Kathleen Overman (shown below) whose family donated the bench in memory of Elijah Childs, Charles Cutler and Stanley Cutler, and members of the Countryside Management Service who have worked closely with the Parish Council in developing the site.
